Egypt claim Buenos Aires bronze with 5-4 win over hosts
Argentina were 3-0 up at the interval
Mohamed Talaat's four goals sealed remarkable comeback win
Egypt have secured bronze at the Men's Youth Olympic Futsal Tournament Buenos Aires 2018 after a remarkable come-from-behind 5-4 win against Argentina.
The hosts had been quick off the mark, with Ezequiel Ramirez opening the scoring just 70 seconds in, before star man Agustin Raggiati doubled Argentina's advantage with a fine solo goal. The No10 then turned provider, teeing up Ramirez, who slotted home with a simple finish - meaning La Albiceleste were 3-0 up at half-time.
Whatever Egypt coach Hesham Saleh said to his young charges at the break, it certainly had the desired effect, as the Pharaohs staged a dramatic comeback. Mohamed Talaat got the Egyptian train rolling, with a long-range effort flying into the Argentinian net, before Mohamed Ahmed pulled the North African side to within a single goal.
Talaat, who remarkably had only scored once before this bronze medal match, then slammed home an equaliser. The No6 completed his hat-trick and put Egypt ahead with another long-range drive - hushing the Buenos Aires crowd. With Argentina pushing for an equaliser, Talaat grabbed his fourth late on to rubber stamp a historic victory for his nation, despite Alan De Candia's late consolation.
Did you know? Egypt are the first side to come from three goals down to win a game at Buenos Aires 2018.
