New Zealand win through to Tokyo 2020

New Zealand have qualified for their third Men’s Olympic Football Tournament reaching Tokyo 2020 with room to spare after a comfortable 5-0 win over Solomon Islands on Saturday.

New Zealand seemed assured of victory by half-time of the OFC Men’s Olympic Qualifier final in Lautoka, Fiji, with the Kiwis 3-0 to the good.

Logan Rogerson scored just seven minutes into the contest, while Myer Bevan and Ben Waine netted before the break.

Bevan nabbed his double midway through the second half and Billy Jones added a fifth in the dying minutes as New Zealand celebrated their return to the Olympic stage.

Fiji represented Oceania at the Rio 2016 Olympics, with New Zealand having previously competed at the 2008 and 2012 Olympiads.
