Madrid pair, Monaco claim upper hand

It was a good Wednesday night for the Madrid-based clubs in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, Atletico and Real earned aggregate advantages for next week’s decisive second legs. Monaco also have an advantage to take home following their rescheduled match in Germany.

A first-half penalty from Antoine Griezmann earned Atletico Madrid a 1-0 result over Leicester City. In an entertaining five-goal contest, Monaco claimed a 3-2 victory at Borussia Dortmund.
