There are just four days left until the winners of The Best FIFA Football Awards™ are revealed!

Only four of the 94 top-three finishers have been defensive players. Paolo Maldini and Roberto Carlos came second in 1995 and 1997 respectively, Cannavaro won it in 2006 after helping Italy win the FIFA World Cup™, and Virgil van Dijk was runner-up to Messi in 2019.

All the winners of The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2021, including the recipients of the FIFA Fan Award and the FIFA Fair Play Award,will be crowned on 17 January during a TV show broadcast live from the Home of FIFA in Zurich.
