VOL Testing 2020
For the recently launched FIFA Quality Programme for Virtual Offside Lines (VOL), FIFA is inviting all interested providers of VOL to participate in the next testing and certification event in late 2020.
Providers of virtual offside line technologies that are interested in certifying their systems to the FIFA standard for VOL must prove that their systems meet the requirements of the FIFA Quality Programme. The next test event for this (a round robin) will be organised by FIFA and is scheduled to take place in late 2020. The exact dates are yet to be confirmed but provisional planning is in place for one in September or October 2020.
To participate at the test event, providers of VOL are asked to submit their application documents to FIFA (firstname.lastname@example.org). Further information about the round robin will be shared by FIFA in due course.

About the round robin
The round robin for virtual offside lines is the test event at which providers of virtual offside lines can demonstrate to FIFA that their systems are compliant with the requirements of the FIFA Quality Programme. In a stadium environment, VOL providers have to demonstrate that their systems can create accurate virtual offside lines. In order to be certified by FIFA, each provider has to pass the test at two different stadiums.
FIFA organises the round robin for VOL at least once a year or, if needed, on a more regular basis.
