Following the approval by the IFAB for the use of small handheld electronic or communication devices in the technical area, FIFA is set to offer all the teams at the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ a technical setup for medical analysts and team medical staff.

Teams can position a medical analyst on the media tribune where FIFA provides a laptop to review match footage frame by frame to analyse collisions and injuries. The medical team also has access to a radio communication system enabling communication between the medical analyst on the media tribune and the medical team in the technical area/pitch. The animation below illustrates this interaction.
