FIFA 19 champion meets the world’s best in Milan

  • FIFA 19 world champion Mohammed Harkous walked the green carpet

  • The German rubbed shoulders with the likes of Messi, Rapinoe and Klopp

  • “It’s a dream to be here”

With a FIFA eWorld Cup™ title, USD 250,000 in prize money, a new team and an unforgettable experience with the world’s best players and coaches in Milan, the last few weeks have likely been some of the craziest in Mohammed Harkous’s life.

Just like the inaugural winner of the FIFA eWorld Cup – back when it was still known as the FIFA Interactive World Cup – the reigning world champion travelled to The Best FIFA Football Awards in Milan. What awaited 'MoAuba' there was a once-in-a-lifetime evening that he will not forget in a hurry.

Having received their exclusive invitation to The Best FIFA Football Awards 2019 after winning the FIFA eWorld Cup, Mohammed Harkous and his coach Matthias Hietsch began their journey at Dusseldorf Airport on Sunday evening.

Before the ceremony began, the reigning world champion took in the sights of the Italian metropolis and met legends such as Roberto Carlos, Michael Essien and many others. After a brief photoshoot at the hotel, it was almost time for the highlight of MoAuba’s trip to Milan – the awards themselves.

Yet before the show began at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, Harkous had a unique opportunity to meet this year’s nominated players and coaches, including Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos, Lucy Bronze and Marcelo, to name but a few. He also rubbed shoulders with the evening’s two biggest stars – The Best FIFA Women’s Player Megan Rapinoe and The Best FIFA Men’s Player Lionel Messi.

As if that were not enough, he also managed to pose for a photo with Brazilian star Alisson Becker, who picked up The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award, and could not resist recreating French world champion Kylian Mbappe’s signature celebration with the man himself.

“There’s nothing to compare it to,” 'MoAuba' said during his live interview before the ceremony. “It’s a dream to be here on the green carpet and taking photos with all the superstars like Messi and the others – it’s just unbelievable.”

Mohammed Harkous then watched the awards show with his coach Matthias Hietsch to conclude a unique evening that neither of them will ever forget.
