Video Vault: England's hat-trick hero makes history

30 July 1966: a date that will forever be remembered in the annals of English football, when the Three Lions won the FIFA World Cup™ for the first, and to date, only time. But history was not solely made in that Final by England clinching a maiden world title with a 4-2 victory after extra time against West Germany.

Adding to his 18th-minute equaliser by scoring twice in extra time, Sir Geoff Hurst became the first player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Final. The former England No10 reflects on that iconic Final at Wembley and the treble that helped secure an historic victory for Sir Alf Ramsey’s men.
