The Suita City Stadium was completed in October 2015 with a capacity of 39, 694. The first stadium in Japan to be funded by individual and corporate donors, it is now home to J.1 heavyweights Gamba Osaka, who finished third at the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup following their AFC Champions League triumph that same year.

Located in the impressive Expo ’70 Commemorative Park in Suita, a city in the north of the Osaka prefecture, the arena uses the latest environmental technology to provide optimum energy efficiency, including the use of solar panelling and a complete system of LED floodlighting.

This will be the second time Osaka hosts games at the Club World Cup, after three matches were staged at the Nagai Stadium during the 2015 edition.
