Grand Final player to watch: Michael ‘MegaBit‘ Bittner

After Michael 'MegaBit' Bittner qualified for the Grand Final as the Xbox top seed at the EA Sports Playoffs in Amsterdam, the German is without doubt one of the players to watch at the FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final 2018.

Stats

  • One of eight German participants at the Grand Final 2018

  • Finished as top scorer at the playoffs in Amsterdam (75)

  • Xbox top seed for the Grand Final

In brief

'MegaBit' has improved every year since playing FIFA 06, his first ever game of the EA Sports FIFA series, and managed to qualify for the Grand Final in his maiden year on the competitive FIFA circuit in 2016.

The 19-year-old, who lives in Bochum, plays for VfL Bochum 1848 eSports.

Road to the Grand Final After securing a place among the top four at the FUT Cup in Barcelona, where he lost to the eventual Xbox tournament champion in the semi-finals, Bittner qualified for the playoffs in Amsterdam.

There he beat 'Joey' in the decisive qualifying match for the Grand Final, before a successful path through the knockout rounds set up a final against 'Rafsou', which he won, making him the top seed for the Grand Final in London, where he will play in Group A.

His chances at the Grand Final Given his experience on the competitive FIFA circuit, including his participation at the 2016 Grand Final, 'MegaBit' is among the firm title favourites.

And he is in no doubt about his objective at the Grand Final: "I want to win the tournament."

'MegaBit' usually plays with a compact 4-1-2-1-2 (2) line-up, which gives him a rock solid defence and a dangerous attack. At the playoffs in Amsterdam he only conceded an average of 2.04 goals per game, but averaged more than three at the other end.
