Sixteen teams confirmed after epic eClub World Cup qualifier weekend

After a non-stop weekend of online qualification, we now have our 16 confirmed teams for the first ever FIFA eClub World Cup, which will take place on 19 and 20 May in a soon to be revealed iconic and eSports-crazy European city.

After a successful pilot edition in 2017, the new FIFA eClub World Cup is FIFA’s first ever team-based event. At the tournament, teams of two players will work together to try and earn seats at the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs, which in turn, leads to the most prestigious event on the competitive FIFA calendar - the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 Grand Final, where the dreams of millions become the reality for one FIFA world champion.

THE STATS

116 teams spanning Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania competed in online qualification, in the hopes of making it to the FIFA eClub World Cup 2018.

200 hours of FIFA were played over the qualifiers weekend.

996 matches were played over three days to determine the 14 teams that would join the host club and last year’s Interactive Club World Cup champions Brondby at the premier club tournament in competitive FIFA.

4,304 goals were scored over the weekend of qualification, creating an average of 4.3 goals per game.

WHAT’S NEXT? Which team will be welcoming our 15 challengers to their hometown for the final tournament? The host city and club will be revealed soon on FIFA.com. The tournament takes place on 19 and 20 May and will be streamed live on FIFA’s channels. The best four players at the eClub World Cup will earn themselves seats at the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs.
