Ryan Giggs: 25 years in the limelight

On the 2 March 1991, few fans looking on as an injured Dennis Irwin was replaced by a young Welsh debutant during  Manchester United's 2-0 defeat to Everton will have realised they were witnessing history.

That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in British football folklore, as a 17-year-old Ryan Giggs trotted out for the first of his 932 appearances for the Red Devils, with 34 major trophies set to pass through his hands over the next 22 seasons.
