Paris Saint-Germain hosted Real Madrid, while Porto visited Liverpool in the second legs of their UEFA Champions League, Round of 16 ties.

Holders Real Madrid had momentum from their first-leg victory at the Santiago Bernabeu and used their experience in the competition to their advantage, navigating their way to a 2-1 victory in Paris and an emphatic 5-2 aggregate triumph.

Over in the north of England, Liverpool's task was a lot more straightforward, as they had done all of the damage to Porto in the first leg after a 5-0 win in Portugal.

Real Madrid are headed to their eight consecutive appearance in the Champions League quarter-finals, while it will be Liverpool's sixth time to reach the last eight.
