FIFA President discusses football issues with world leaders

From 21 to 27 September 2021, Heads of State and Government addressed the UN General Assembly following the theme for the 76th session: "Building resilience through hope - to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainability, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalize the United Nations". As the world works to end the pandemic everywhere and reboot the global economy, there was a firm focus on ensuring an inclusive, sustainable and resilient COVID-19 recovery, setting the world on course toward a just transition that will create jobs, reduce inequalities and improve health and food security, benefiting people, planet and the economy. In between sessions, FIFA President Gianni Infantino met with a number of global leaders, to focus on a wide range of topics related to their own respective countries. Ranging from the international match calendar, the reform of the transfer system, development of women’s football and the ongoing battle against discrimination and online abuse.
