Juventus draw 1-1 with Ajax in Amsterdam
Barcelona took a significant step towards the last four of the UEFA Champions League with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the first leg of their quarter-final.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Luis Suarez, who used to ply his trade at United rivals Liverpool, headed in a shot that deflected off Luke Shaw. Initially the goal was ruled out for offside, but after Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review, the goal was confirmed and officially deemed to be an own goal by Shaw.
Ernesto Valverde's Barcelona side then limited United to very few scoring opportunities and secured the 1-0 win at Old Trafford, ending a six-match winless run in Champions League knockout stage away matches. It was the first time since March 2005 that United failed to have a single shot on target in a Champions League match.
Ajax keep semi-final hopes alive
Ajax came from behind to draw 1-1 with Juventus at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam after Cristiano Ronaldo had opened the scoring with his first-half header.
Ronaldo's impressive goalscoring record in the Champions League continued as his header, which was directed in after Joao Cancelo's accurate cross, was his competition-leading 125th.
Brazil international David Neres scored on the other side of the break with a superb curling effort. It was the 22-year-old's seventh goal in his last eight matches for Ajax in all competitions.
The second leg matches from both ties will take place on Tuesday 16 April.

Ajax have lost only one of their 15 European matches this season, a 2-1 home defeat against Real Madrid on 13 February.
Ronaldo has now scored 24 goals in the Champions League quarter-final stage, more than the next two players combined (Messi and Raul both on ten).
Barcelona are the only team left unbeaten in the 2018/19 Champions League. Barcelona also have not trailed in any of their nine Champions League matches this campaign.
Manchester United lost consecutive Champions League home matches for only the third time in history, after October to November 1996 (Fenerbahce, Juventus) and December 2012 to March 2013 (Cluj and Real Madrid).
