A year of huge development and historic moments

Women’s football is an integral part of FIFA.com – and not just during tournaments. Many current and former players, coaches and important figures within national associations have fielded questions from us this year.

Former England boss Hope Powell talked about the "brilliant" development of the women’s game, while retired Germany striker Celia Sasic offered an analysis of the current situation in the German national side. There were moving moments too, such as when Nadia Nadim recalled memories of her father and living under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

We have selected a few highlights from our extensive array of interviews for you to enjoy. Women’s football will continue to be an important part of FIFA.com in 2018, with the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France and the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay set to demonstrate just how far the female side of the beautiful game has come in recent years.
