2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014: the Frenchman qualified no fewer than five times for the Grand Final, making it through to the final three times and the semi-finals the first four times. With two titles and one runner-up finish, Bruce Grannec is the most successful eFootball player of all time.

In his debut Grand Final appearance at the age of just 22, the Frenchman made it all the way through to the final where he defeated the Mexican Ruben Zerecero 3-1 to win his first title back in 2009.

The same happened four years later when the French eFootball legend saw off another Mexican in the final – Andrei Torres Vivero – to become only the second player to win two titles. Not that Grannec had things all his own way in that tournament, losing two of his opening three matches before battling back in comprehensive manner and adding that second star to his console.

After losing a tight final in 2012 against another eFootball legend in the shape of Alfonso Ramos and having to be content with second place, he put the exclamation point on an incredible career in 2013 with his second title.

The following year, to the surprise of fans and pundits alike, he fell early in the Grand Final before announcing in 2015 that he was retiring from competitive gaming to concentrate on commentary and streaming. Prior to that, he completed his computer science studies and also wrote a book about virtual football tactics.

Two of Grannec’s closest allies remained loyal to him throughout the years and helped him on his way to his two eFootball world titles: his best friend and mentor Brak and his coach Zal. Brak met Bruce when they were about 15 at an eSports event and they quickly hit it off, with the former helping the latter particularly with his mental preparation and whenever it looked as if ‘The Machine’ might fall prey to nerves.

Zal was also in Grannec’s camp for a number of years, coaching him to his two world titles. He has gone on to become one of the most famous coaches on the scene, looking after PSG eSports and 'PSG Daxe’ – including at the FIFA eClub World Cup™ – as well as the French national team at FIFA eNations Cup™ 2019.
