Normalisation committee appointed for the Guinean FA

The Bureau of the FIFA Council has yesterday, 28 April 2016, decided to appoint a normalisation committee for the Guinean Football Association (FGF) in accordance with art. 8 par. 2 of the FIFA Statutes. The committee will be in charge of running the daily affairs of the FGF, to revise the statutes and to organise elections accordingly by 28 February 2017 at the latest.

The decision to appoint a normalisation committee follows the internal wrangles currently affecting the FGF and that have brought all football competitions in the country to a halt. It comes after a joint FIFA and CAF mission, which took place on 22 and 23 April 2016.

There will be between five and seven members of this normalisation committee, and they will be identified by a joint FIFA and CAF mission to take place very soon. The normalisation committee will act as an electoral committee and none of its members will be eligible for any of the open positions.
