One of several lesser-known names in Hugo Broos's squad for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, Nicolas Moumoi Ngamaleu can pride himself on a solid reputation in his native Cameroon. The forward joined modest Austrian outfit Rheindorf Altach in 2016, but although he has yet to truly break through in Europe, he left his homeland fresh from winning a trio of domestic titles with Coton Sport.

Ngamaleu was still only 17 when he made his Elite One debut with the Garoua club, yet his skill on the ball and eye for goal quickly marked him out as one the league's most spectacular talents. "Moumi is a player who's building on his very strong potential, both in terms of his physique and technique," said Didier Gomes, his Coton Sport coach. "He can't be faulted for how he helps out the team, but he just has to develop a much sharper tactical sense." Three years on and Ngamaleu has evolved into a complete forward, having recently helped his club side finish fourth in Austria – and now earning a place in Broos's Confederations Cup plans.
