Raul Jimenez has just had a season to remember with his club side Benfica, winning the Portuguese league title with them and enjoying the regular first-team football he has been craving since moving to Europe in 2014, when he spent a year with Atletico Madrid before joining Portugal’s Águilas

A powerful striker who knows his way around the penalty box, Jimenez learned his trade with Mexico’s Águilas, Club America. At just over 6’3 (1.90m) tall, the 26-year-old frontman is a threat in the air, though he also works hard off the ball to create space for his strike partners. A Men's Olympic Football Tournament winner at London 2012, he appeared at the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 and will be looking to build on his success at club level and consolidate his place in El Tri's set-up at Russia 2017.
