Adelaide born and raised Dylan McGowan, started his senior career in the nation of his parentage – Scotland. A rugged but mobile defender who can slot in anywhere across the backline, McGowan enjoyed plenty of game time at Hearts before returning to Australia five years ago.

Two years younger than brother and fellow Socceroo Ryan McGowan, Dylan played for the now defunct Gold Coast United, and more recently has enjoyed three profitable seasons with hometown club Adelaide United. He played at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, but despite a couple of squad call-ups, he had never managed to earn a senior cap leading into the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
