At 28 years of age, Georges Mandjeck bridges the gap between Cameroon’s revamped and youthful squad, with whom he recently lifted the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, and the previous generation, with whom he participated in the 2010 Cup of Nations and 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

At club level, the midfield man got his big break in Germany (at Stuttgart and then at Kaiserslautern), prior to turning out for French clubs Rennes and Auxerre, and Turkish side Kayseri Erciyesspor. In 2015, the Douala native returned to France to sign on the dotted line with Metz. At the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017, he will aim to re-establish himself in the Indomitable Lions’ starting line-up, where he can make his experience and positional sense count.
