Corinthians and Real Madrid have set the early pace at the start of the FIFA Club World Championship, with wins in their opening matches in Sao Paulo.

Real Madrid outplayed Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia and won comfortably 3-1, their overall superiority called into question only at the start of the second half. Corinthians, meanwhile, in front of a home crowd, produced a very impressive first half against the newly crowned African Champions, Raja Casablanca, and cruised to a 2-0 victory.

The next match in the Sao Paulo group, on Friday, include the clash between Real Madrid and Corinthians, in what may be a pre-determination of the group winners.

The Rio de Janeiro group kicks off on Thursday, when European Champions Manchester United take on Necaxa of Mexico, and local team Vasco da Gama meet the Oceania Club Champions, South Melbourne.
