Aurelio Vidmar, Adelaide United coach
I'm delighted that our boys were able to get the right result. They came up against an opponent who played in a very different style than what they are used to, but they ground out the result. The opening 30 minutes were the best we've played at this tournament and Cristiano scored a fantastic goal. In truth we could have had more, but did lose our way a bit when Diego went off injured. We defended very well to hold on to the lead and I'm delighted to finish fifth at this FIFA Club World Cup.

Manuel Jose, Al Ahly coach
For me, it's an unfortunate but unsurprising result. We came here with a lot of expectations on our shoulders and when we failed to beat Pachuca, we received a lot of criticism. This hurt the players and they did not recover emotionally. Adelaide started well, scored early and that hurt us even more.  We tried hard, but we could have played better. We had a lot of the ball, but we didn't create a lot of chances - a sign of how much pressure we were under.
