Solomon Islands have comfortably won through to this month’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013.

Solomon Islands secured a comfortable 6-0 win over hosts New Caledonia in Noumea today, which combined with their 8-3 victory over Vanuatu on Saturday, saw the Melanesians ease into their fifth FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

Today’s final match in the three-day three-nation tournament was a winner-takes-all scenario with both teams having secured a win apiece over the past two days.

The Bilikiki were rarely troubled although they held only a one-goal lead heading into the third and final period.

Joe Luwi claimed the goalscoring honours with a treble, while Anthony Talo, James Naka and Robert Laua were also on the scoresheet.

Solomon Islands are the 16th and final nation to qualify for Tahiti 2013 which commences on 18 September.
