The third game of the day took on a very different complexion than the first two as a combination of fine goalkeeping and a lack of clinical finishing saw just one goal scored in the last minute of Uruguay and Mexico’s Group B battle.

Uruguay captain Gaston Laduche netted the winning goal in the final minute of the game, pouncing at the back post to score from Luis Quinta’s attempted bicycle kick.
