Del Nero joins FIFA Executive Committee

Paraguayan Football Association president Juan Angel Naput, new Brazil's CBF president Jose Maria Marin, CONMEBOL president Nicolas Leoz and CONMEBOL executive president Marco Polo Del Nero

FIFA can confirm that CONMEBOL has appointed Marco Polo del Nero as the confederation's successor to Ricardo Terra Teixeira on the FIFA Executive Committee.

The Brazilian has been appointed with immediate effect and will be invited to attend the next meeting of the Executive Committee, scheduled for 29 and 30 March in Zurich. 

A lawyer who specialises in criminal law, Del Nero, 71, began his career in football as an administrator at Sao Paulo club Palmeiras. He took over as head of the Paulista Football Federation in 2003 and became a member of CONMEBOL four years later.
