131st Annual Business Meeting of The IFAB to take place at Wembley

The IFAB’s Annual Business Meeting (ABM) will take place in London at Wembley Stadium on Thursday, 3 November 2016.

Feedback from The IFAB advisory panels will help the deliberations on a number of topics at the meeting, including proposed Law changes for 2017/18, trying to define handball’ offences more consistently and there will be detailed updates on the ongoing experiments with Video Assistant Referees, fourth substitutions in extra time and temporary dismissals (“sin bins”).

The Board will also discuss potential amendments to the “Modifications” section of the Laws of the Game and will receive a proposal on a global standard for Electronic Performance and Tracking Systems (EPTS) which will be introduced next year.

The ABM prepares topics and material for the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the meeting with exclusive authority to make binding changes to football’s Laws of the Game. Martin Glenn, Chief Executive of The Football Association, will chair this year’s ABM, in preparation for the 131st AGM, to be held in London on Friday 3 March 2017.
