Zhang Jian is both Senior Vice President and General Secretary of the Chinese Football Association, having been so since 2013. Before becoming a co-opted member of the AFC in 2016, he spent two years as President of the East Asian Football Federation. He was elected to the FIFA Council at the 27th AFC Congress 2017 in Manama, Bahrain on Monday 8 May. The experienced Chinese administrator is also a member of FIFA’s Development Committee.
