On Tuesday 5 July at the Peruvian Government Palace, the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, received a delegation from the Peruvian Football Association (FPF) and FIFA.

The FPF-FIFA delegation included FPF President Agustín Lozano Saavedra, FIFA Tournament Director, Jaime Yarza and other officials.

During the meeting, the delegation thanked the government for its support to date for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023 and offered valuable information to President Castillo about the importance of fulfilling the commitments and deadlines for the proper organisation of the tournament.

President Castillo's message was positive and expressed his government's commitment to carry out this historic sporting event which will return to Peru after 18 years and will offer a legacy of infrastructure, social and sporting benefits for the country.
