At 19.30 local time on Wednesday, Southampton FC’s St Mary’s Stadium will play host to the first ‘live test match’ in the current second test phase of Goal-line Technology.

The Hampshire FA Senior Cup Final between AFC Totton and Eastleigh FC is the first of two live matches in which Hawk-Eye’s system will be tested.

Today it has been confirmed that the two live matches in which GoalRef’s system will be tested are two Danish Superligaen matches.

The first game is be on Sunday 20 May at 16:00 as Silkeborg IF play host to SønderjyskE. The second match will be the game between FC Nordsjælland and AC Horsens on the final match-day of the season, Wednesday 23 May, at 20:00.

For clarification once again, only the EMPA observer in the stadium will have access to the GLT system readings. Therefore should a goal-line incident occur in any of the ‘test’ matches, the system will NOT be utilised by the match officials, meaning the GLT system will have no influence on the outcome of the matches in which the system is being tested.

The venue and date for Hawk-Eye’s second test match will be confirmed shortly.
