Deutsche Telekom will be the Official Telecommunication Services Partner of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. This announcement was made today by FIFA and Deutsche Telekom at a media conference at the German company’s headquarters in Bonn, where FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and Dr. Ron Sommer, Chairman of Deutsche Telekom’s Board of Management, signed the contract sealing the agreement.
Deutsche Telekom becomes the first Official Partner to have signed an agreement solely for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. Eight other Official Partners - adidas, Avaya, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, Gillette, McDonald's, Toshiba und Yahoo! - have already commited themselves as sponsors of the 2006 competition as part of their contracts for the 2002 FIFA World Cup™.
