FIFA President meets Korean FA and FIFA Partner Hyundai

FIFA President Infantino held meetings with FIFA Partners Hyundai Motor Group and with the Korean Football Association today in Seoul.

“It’s a great pleasure for me to be in Korea Republic, a remarkable host of FIFA tournaments and a major powerhouse of Asian and world football. I’m looking forward to the FIFA U-20 World Cup here next year. It will be a fantastic tournament, with passionate fans,” President Infantino said.

He also expressed the idea that FIFA should help organising a match between Korea Republic and Korea DPR - beyond the games which are played between both associations at competitions level - thus using the power of football to bring people together.

President Infantino had the opportunity to meet and share his vision of FIFA with a Hyundai Motor Group delegation led by Vice-Chairman Chung Euisun.‎ He also met with the Korean Football Association and its President Chung Monggyu, holding talks on football development as well as on the preparations for next year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup which will gather 24 teams and be played in six venues across the country (Cheonan, Daejeon, Incheon, Jeju, Jeonju and Suwon).

Previously, Korea Republic hosted the 1988 Olympic Football Tournaments, the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup, the 2002 FIFA World Cup™ and the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

President Infantino will proceed to Bangkok tomorrow, where he will take part in the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Football Association of Thailand.
