The Organising Committee for the FIFA World Cup™, chaired by Lennart Johansson (Sweden), today decided that the hosts, Germany, would play in the opening match of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ in Munich on 9 June 2006.
The kick-off times for the matches were also ratified as follows (local time):
Group round: 15.00 h, 18.00 h, 21.00 h
Round of sixteen: 17.00 h, 21.00 h
Final: 20.00 h

Finally, the committee confirmed that the final draw would be staged in Leipzig on 9 December 2005, two days before the start of the FIFA Club World Championship in Japan.
