Uruguay legend Paz dies at 95
Paz was the back-up goalkeeper as Uruguay triumphed in Brazil to become world champions for the second time.
He played in the 3-2 win over Sweden in Uruguay's penultimate match at the tournament, but was not in the starting line-up for the 2-1 win against Brazil in the decisive game at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Paz was also part of the team that won the Copa America in 1942 while, at club level, he won nine national titles and played 471 matches during a 15-year spell with capital club Nacional.
In a statement, Nacional described Paz as one of the club's "greatest glories" and added: "Owner of a huge personality, he possessed great reflexes and courage."
