Griga, Hipp named Slovakia joint-coaches
"Both coaches will have equal competences," SFZ head Jan Kovacik told journalists.
Hipp, a 49-year-old ex-defender acting as Slovakia's interim coach since Weiss quit, played ten games for the national team -- five for the former Czechoslovakia and five for Slovakia after the federation split in 1993.
He was an assistant coach with the national team from 2003-06 and from 2008, assisting in Slovakia's surprise advance to the Round of 16 at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™.
The Slovaks stunned defending champions Italy with a 3-2 win in the group stage, before losing 2-1 to the Netherlands in the first knockout round.
A former forward for Sparta Prague, Feyenoord and Rapid Vienna, the 50-year-old Griga currently coaches Slovak team FK Senica, the runners-up in the country's top flight last season.
Slovakia failed to qualify for UEFA EURO 2012.
