Real Madrid have announced their former midfielder Jose Maria Zarraga has died at the age of 81.
Zarraga played for Real between 1949 and 1962, during which time he helped the club to five European Cups alongside the likes of Alfredo di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas.
Zarraga, who scored 96 goals in 306 appearances for Real, was capped eight times by Spain and also won the Spanish league title on six occasions.
"Real Madrid shares the grief of his family and shows their condolences over his death," read a statement on the club's website.
Real will honour Zarraga by wearing black armbands in tonight's UEFA Champions League match against APOEL Nicosia at the Santiago Bernabeu.
