Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese has no doubt about his status as Germany number two, despite sitting on the bench for 90 minutes last Friday as Ron-Robert Zieler celebrated his international debut. With Manuel Neuer assured of the number one jersey in the national team, Low took a look at Zieler in the 3-3 draw in Ukraine but Wiese is convinced that the Hannover goalkeeper's appearance was only a one-off.

Should Neuer be unable to play at UEFA EURO 2012 for whatever reason, Wiese says he fully expects to start. "I am assured of my number two role," he told the Kreiszeitung Syke. "There is absolutely no doubt about that."

When asked if Zieler could overtake him in the pecking order over the next six months, Wiese said: "I think that's a bit of a joke really. "It (the game) was just to give him a chance to show what he can do."

Wiese was due to play the second half, but Low decided that, given the freezing temperatures, it would have been difficult for him to get warmed up during the interval, which is why Zieler emerged for the second half despite conceding three goals in the first 45 minutes.
