Three first-half goals helped Ecuador overwhelm Costa Rica 4-0 in Quito on Tuesday.
Christian Suárez opened the scoring in the 20th minute, with Jaime Ayovi doubling the advantage six minutes later.
Segundo Castillo made it 3-0 just after the hour mark and Christian Benitez rounded off the success 12 minutes from time - five minutes after Costa Rica had David Guzman dismissed for deliberate handball.
Oscar Cardoza netted twice in the last four minutes to put the gloss on Paraguay's 3-0 win in Honduras, after Nestor Camacho had opened the scoring in the 31st minute.
Meanwhile, second half goals from Teofilo Gutiérrez and Jackson Martinez gave Colombia a 2-0 win in Jamaica.
