Germany coach Joachim Low will not be taking the captain's armband off Philipp Lahm despite the controversial remarks made by the Bayern Munich defender in his autobiography.

Lahm's book is currently being serialised by the Bild newspaper and some of his comments about former coaches he has worked under have caused offence.

However, after holding talks with the 27-year-old yesterday, Low has decided he will not be taking any disciplinary action.

"We had a talk last night and discussed how and why certain things were written," Low said. "I told him that I was not pleased with him judging other players and coaches in public. Nobody deserves that."

However, having read the full book, Low has not found anything worse than the published excerpts that could jeopardise his standing as the national team skipper.

"He has not revealed anything private from within the team," he added. "There was never any need to discuss taking the captain's armband away from him."

With that issue resolved, the attention can now turn to Friday's qualifier at the Arena AufSchalke, where a win for Germany could secure their ticket to UEFA EURO 2012. Low will be without Sven Bender, who has pulled out of the squad due to injury.
