Ron Vlaar has been drafted into the Netherlands squad for tonight's friendly against Austria at late notice after Hedwiges Maduro was forced to withdraw with flu.

Feyenoord's Vlaar will only arrive in Eindhoven later today, giving him little time to prepare with his team-mates, but coach Bert van Marwijk felt it necessary to add cover.

Vlaar played in the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers against San Marino and Finland in September.
