An own goal by Estonia's Andrei Sidorenkov earned Slovenia a valuable win in UEFA EURO 2012 Group C in Tallinn. Both sides had their chances, but the tie was only settled after 67 minutes when Sidorenkov scooped the ball into his own net.

Estonia had a chance in the opening minute, but Maimar Saag fired over the bar before Slovenia's Valter Birsa responded with a shot which was cleared. Birsa then swung in two corner-kicks which both failed to produce a goal, the second leading to a shot by Milivoje Novakovic which was saved by Sergei Pareiko.

Estonia nearly took the lead 15 minutes in, but a shot by Saag was well saved by Slovenia's Samir Handanovic. The Slovenians survived again when Tarmo Kink's effort was blocked by Bostjan Cesar before Robert Koren replied with his own chance which was blocked by Aleksandr Dmitrijev. Just before half-time Novakovic lobbed over the bar and then headed Birsa's cross wide right as Slovenia pushed for the opener.

Koren shot over four minutes into the second half and then Miso Brecko's effort was blocked by Ragnar Klavan. Estonia's Aleksandr Dmitrijev saw his shot caught by Handanovic but with 25 minutes to go the visitors went ahead through an own goal. Birsa's shot was blocked by Klavan but Sidorenkov scooped the loose ball high into his own net from close range.
