Bielsa agrees to stay
Marcelo Bielsa has agreed a new contract to coach Chile until the 2015 Copa America.
Chile Football Federation president Harold Mayne-Nicholls confirmed the new deal for Bielsa, who guided the national team to the second round of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. "We have reached a complete agreement which was ratified unanimously by the board," said Mayne-Nicholls.
Bielsa's role within will expand and, as well as overseeing the selection of the national team, he will have an input into the Under-20 side and in the federation as a whole.
Mayne-Nicholls added: "We can say with certainty that we will have Marcelo for several more years, heading the team selection, and also engaging in the Under-20, carrying on work in the national football federation, maintaining constant communication with the community through lectures and other activities."
