Smuda takes over as Poland coach
Poland's FA have appointed Franciszek Smuda to replace Leo Beenhakker who was fired last month after they failed to reach the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals™.
Following their September elimination from the FIFA World Cup, Poland will not play any competitive matches until 9 June, 2012 when EURO 2012 gets underway.
Smuda has managed several Premier League teams in Poland, including Lech Poznan Wisla Krakow and Legia Warsaw. He was sounded out as coach of Poland in August and will replace Stefan Majewski who worked as interim manager after Beenhakker's sacking.
