Saudi Arabia wrapped up their preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup™ play-off against Bahrain with a 2-1 win against Malaysia at Prince Mohamad bin Fahad Stadium in Damman.
The Saudis opened the scoring nine minutes before the break through substitute Malek Maaz, who had replaced injured striker Naif Hazzazi.
Abdullatif Al Ghannam doubled their advantage seven minutes into the second half before Ahmad Shakir grabbed a consolation for Malaysia with five minutes remaining.
Saudi Arabia travel to Bahrain for the first leg of the play-off on Saturday before hosting the return match four days later.
The winner will then face New Zealand over two legs in October and November for a place in South Africa next year.
