Dreams come true: Re-live CAN 2004
As the final whistle blew on the 2004 African Nations Cup finals in Tunisia, a dream had finally been achieved for the host nation.
It was not through a lack of effort on the part of the North Africans, who had twice before hosted the tournament in 1965 and 1994.
They had failed to succeed in those two tournaments, in 1965 reaching the final and in 1994 they went out in the first round.
But under the shrewd management of the experienced French coach Roger Lemerre, Tunisia finally came good on a dramatic day at the newly-built stadium in Rades, thrilling a capacity 60,000 crowd with their 2-1 win over Morocco in the 2004 final.
