Australia and Queensland Roar defender Craig Moore has been given medical clearance to continue playing after undergoing testicular cancer surgery last month, his club has revealed.

The 33-year-old former Glasgow Rangers player had surgery in Brisbane to remove a testicle six weeks ago, after the discovery of a lump.

Moore met with his oncologist today and was informed that he would not immediately require further treatment. He was also given the all-clear to continue training and playing, a club spokesman said in a statement.

Moore this year returned from international retirement for the Socceroos' 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualification campaign.

Australia are unbeaten after three games, and lead Group A of Asian Zone qualifying ahead of their key match with regional rivals, Japan, in Yokohama on 11 February.
