A Partizan Belgrade player, Almani Moreira, is set to leave hospital here after collapsing early in his side's UEFA Cup match with FC Seville, the Spanish club said on Thursday.

Portuguese Moreira fainted on the pitch after a clash of heads and lost consciousness, prompting fears of another tragedy at Seville's Ramon Sanchez-Pizjjuan stadium on Wednesday.

Former Seville player Antonio Puerta tragically suffered a heart attack during the opening match of last season, and died three days later.

FC Seville released a statement on their website indicating that Moreira would soon be leaving hospital.

"Despite Moreira losing consciousness it appears he has just suffered a scare," said the statement.

Seville's club doctor Adolfo Munoz said Moreira suffered a concussion after clashing heads with two FC Seville defenders in the early stages of the match. FC Seville won the match 3-0.
