New Australian A-League side Gold Coast United are close to agreeing terms with two Brazilian midfielders ahead of their inaugural season.
Club officials said coach Miron Bleiberg was confident of signing defensive midfielder Robson Alves da Silva and attacking midfielder Jefferson Charles de Souza Pinto, known simply as Robson and Jefferson respectively.
Robson, 22, who represented Brazil at U-15 and U-17 level, and plays for Cabofriense, caught Bleiberg's eye at a specially-arranged trial match in Rio de Janeiro.
Bleiberg is also confident of recruiting Jefferson, 26, who plays for Brazilian Serie B team Criciuma.
The Gold Coast United coach is continuing his scouting mission for new recruits in Europe, before returning home in mid-December.
Gold Coast United and North Queensland Fury will fill the two spots created by the A-League's expansion from eight teams to ten for the 2009/10 season.
