Italian Maurizio Trombetta has been named as the new coach of reigning Romanian champions Cluj.

The 45-year-old has signed a two-year deal to replace former incumbent Ioan Andone.

Andone guided the club to their first league title last season, but was shown the door after a poor start to the current campaign. Cluj are 11th in the table. 

Cluj have qualified for the UEFA Champions League, and will play in Group A with Chelsea, Roma and Bordeaux.
